Allen wasn't a big name coming into the 2016 season, but he has played well enough—and showed NFL-style traits—to shoot way up the board if he decides to enter the 2017 draft class.
Why should Bears fans be excited? Because Allen has the size (6'5", 220 lbs), arm, mobility and gunslinger mentality to develop into a great quarterback. He's not NFL-ready right out of the gate, but none of the passers in this year's class are. Investing in the future, with another year of Matt Barkley at quarterback, is the way general manager Ryan Pace should be thinking.
The Bears also have other needs, but missing out on a quarterback would set this rebuild back another year.
This Josh Allen guy looks interesting, I could go along with that as long as we have a decent starter for next year. I sure wish we knew what we have in Connor Shaw. After the last few games, I don't think Matt BarkIsBiggerThanHisBitely should be on the team next year. Adios Hoyer and Cutler.
Josh's left thumb seems to be broken in that photo. He looks tough, like he can stand up to the abuse Massie and Leno could be dumping on him.
I think we should persuade Cleveland and SF to each take a QB so we can draft Myles Garrett. There's another guy we could use we'll miss by one or two picks. All we can really do is get shittier. We can never get luckier.

well, I am probably the biggest sore loser at not getting #2, but water under the bridge. #3 is nothing to sneeze at, but I agree. One more loss and a #2 pick and we might have gotten him. But at three losses I guess we didn't tank. If we would only have won 2, that would have been a tank. I'm really not sure. I get confused if tanking involves just losing as some think or it involves trying to lose as I have always thought.
We tries to win every game and we won three. That's where it is. We will do fine at #3. But I will be butt hurt when I see Garrett go in front of us anyway.
All it takes is for one of the teams in front of the Bears to take a QB and the Bears can take Garrett or Allen, which ever is available. Both have been rated as the best overall player by different writers. After that they can take the best QB available in the second round. At this point I don't see a huge advantage in taking a QB in the first round because I think the talent pool at that position is fairly even. Might as well take a guy in the second.
