Another possible QB candidate with warts - Tyrod Taylor

If they release him then he's one more option to lay on the table.  I'm not rejecting any idea that can improve the team and the QB position period.  But it seems to me the guy who needs convincing is gonna be John Fox whose judgement about who to play at QB is even worse than my past decisions about who to marry.

Well it would have to be as an UFA because I don't see us trading for him unless he is healthy enough to start.  He's also not the typical Fox type QB but that's where Pace has to simply take charge and force some issues.  He looks like more of a Russell Wilson type and I have no issues with that.

Last point, I like a QB with a decent arm who has scrambling ability. Whether he can throw laterally or across his body while on the run is a whole other story

I am not sure what AAV (Average Annual Value) is for the QB position in general. It can't really be calculated just on some guessed value like the Franchise Tag. Take a look at his largest body of work with the Bills for seasons 2015/16. It averages out to yearly totals of 14.5 started/completed, a 62.7 completion average, 3000 yeards per season, 18 TD's and 6 ints per season, and a QB rating of about 89/90 each season on average. They are pretty good marks I would not know how to calculate what he would be worth on the open market especially coming off a serious injury and surgery and with the knowledge the Bills recently cut him. All of that has to factor in to his market value.
