The Bears returned Wednesday from their brief Christmas hiatus and began preparing for Sunday's season finale against the Vikings in Minneapolis. Here are two things we learned at Halas Hall.
Leonard Floyd continued playing against the Redskins after suffering a concussion.
The rookie outside linebacker lunged head-first into defensive end Akiem Hicks while trying to make the tackle on the first play of the Redskins' second drive. The TV broadcast showed Floyd lying motionless on the ground for four seconds before it cut to a different camera shot.
If anyone saw Floyd and suspected he might be injured, they didn't act on it. He stayed in the game for 12 more snaps and didn't demonstrate any obvious signs of impairment.
It wasn't until the Redskins ran a 17-yard screen pass in his direction for a touchdown that Bears coaches sensed something amiss.
"He was out of sorts," defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said, "and it should be an easy play for him to make. Stop that play and get off the field. But when we talked to him after the play and asked what happened, we knew he was concussed and we turned him over to the medical people. That was the last play he played."
Fangio said Floyd suffered the concussion two snaps before his final play, but the game video clearly shows Floyd down after the blow to the head on the previous drive.
It was Floyd's second concussion in a span of 35 days. Following the first one, he left the field on a stretcher and missed one game.
Floyd did not practice Wednesday. In fact, the Bears practiced with only two outside linebackers who are on the active roster. The absences of Floyd, Pernell McPhee (left shoulder) and Willie Young (knee) left Christian Jones and Sam Acho as the healthy bodies.
I have this tire that has a hole in it so the air keep coming out of it. I was gonna fix the hole but it's easier to fill it back up with air if I just use the hole than if I patch it and use the valve stem. Will this hurt my tire?

I wouldn't call this "dumb." Floyd's a competitor and he's young. He wants to compete and doesn't think about the health effects, the performance effects, or the long terms effects. He's thinking about getting some quarterbacks and not looking like a pussy on the injury report.
Dude will get his break now and that should help him recover. I like Floyd man. Kids got a lot of talent and a lot of upside.

lol, while I completely agree with all you said as well as his motivations, it was still dumb
