Now if he can just do that past 25 yards without putting the ball into the stands or having it look like a shot duck so the safety picks it off.
LOL, I know. But honestly, I keep thinking he has proven he can make those longer throws with accuracy and timing in college. He has the ability but he needs to get it down with the new team/players/playbook/schemes now. I figure he will get incrementally better this rookie season. And for continuity sake I'm glad most of his skill players will be back in 2025 and beyond. That will help tremendously. For a rookie I think he's climbed a steep learning curve already... he's only 6 games in on his NFL career.

As a short-to-intermediate passer, he's already elite or near-elite. What a change after watching year after year of Mitch and Justin being unable to hit a slant, throw over the middle, and dirting horizontal throws to the flat.
Justin's windup and decision-making was so slow you could check your email waiting and Mitch could not accurately hit any throw more than 5 yards from the LOS that wasn't a stop route.

Good times.....
Dang it was frustrating watching Mitch throw fastballs into the dirt, stretching out his receivers & throwing behind them or at their feet so YAC was impossible. Or JF1's near complete inability to throw with proper timing or touch passes or place the ball so the player could make a move. I remember the preseason game last year where JF1 hit DJ for two long TDs on short throws and everyone was elated. For me, watching his timing & ball placement on those and thinking "he hasn't developed at all". I was going to give him until mid-last season, but after that preseason reality was obvious.
Caleb is the real deal. And there's never been anything as obvious.

^This^ We need to keep in mind that he’s a rookie just getting started. He will (hope not) have points of regression. We shouldn’t lose our mind over his play one way or another. No doubt, he’s playing well. He processes the field quickly and has good pocket presence. When he has to scramble, he’s looking downfield to make a play rather than tuck it and run. Very impressive to say the least. We, as Bears fans, haven’t had anything like him. So what do we do? We meatball and criticize everything we see because we’ve been doing it forever. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
