agree w/most of this. Which is why I hope they do NOT trade for him. Btw, Jimmy G is going to cost a lot more then 2nd's since the Browns have 2 high round 1sts this year.
What a horrible article. I stopped reading after they based everything off of the Alex Smith trade. Really? You're basing a 3rd round, unproven, backup QB's value against a QB who is a former #1 overall and has led his teams to the playoffs multiple times? Garbage.

I agree with you 110%. That wasn't an analysis it was a hack job to boost a preconceived opinion and it should have begun with a disclaimer as such. I don't even want to get into it in depth. Not when he thinks $13.5 mil as a base cap cost for Cutler is huge and then goes on to rant about what Houston paid Osweiler.
There isn't one of us here who couldn't write a better article than that so I'll just answer his question. Would I trade a 2017 and a 2018 2nd round pick for him?
Hell yes, can we do it on the first day of the new year? I see about 10% of the risk in doing that as I see spending even one 2nd round pick on a rookie this year and if we want to not have to pay top dollar for a QB then keep Cutler. He'll be cheaper than any other vet with his skill and experience at least through 2018 and by then we'll know if anyone we drafted is ready to start.
Jeezus this guy shouldn't even be let near a keyboard let alone an NFL team. He makes Phil Emery look like a mensa. He also fails to mention we'd have an entire year with Garoppolo under his very cheap rookie deal to evaluate him before having to extend him so that also moderates the risk of evaluating his worth.
