Rumor is Ryan Pace offered Brady 10 million while the Bucs offered him 27.5 million.
Did we make a mistake not going after Brady? Could we have won a Super Bowl?
Apparently Pace did go after him. But Pace didn't manage the cap well. The Bears had $7.8 mil of cap space left in 2020. He would have had to do some juggling just to pay that $10-mil offering. Would have been tough coming up with the 2-year fully guaranteed $50 million dollar contract that Tampa gave him. Poles had to clean up a cap-poor financial mess when he inherited the Pace mess.

I have to admit, I really liked Pace when he came in. But in the end, he was way over his head, and I agree.... He was horrible at how he spent cap money. Really horrible.
