The main message I get from this is that everyone really really wants this to work - and they are willing to put away egos and be humble about working together here. Hey, this may be the first time I've seen something like this and it is a good thing. If this is successful then kudos to everyone on the Bears for taking this approach. We do have some great people in that locker room.
All true, but i have a concern in that the players are trying to help out the guy who is supposed to be leading them. How do you believe a guy that needs to be guided like that can be the guy calling the shots. Maybe just me, but my faith in him is not real high. I love that the players think enough of him that they are helping instead of revolting. And maybe they know they have him for the whole season and are senior enough to understand they need to make it work, but this is not good.
I just figure this is a pretty big project that Waldron took on here. New everything. Countless moving parts. Installing a new offense is a big deal under the best of circumstances. New team, new players (and the players are new to each other here too with the new guys on O). New schemes - and as if that's not enough we have a rookie QB1 starting day-1. That last factor just takes this to another level. LOL, what could possibly go wrong? Old school coaches would just bluff their way through this by pounding square pegs into round holes (Nagy). Waldron is pretty wise here by putting away his pride and listening to feedback. If Waldron does get the offense installed and successful, how cool is it that this was literally a team effort?

Happens every season with several teams. Not anything new. I think you are giving him too much latitude.

I don't think you see it with a new rookie QB1 starting day-1 on top of everything else. That alone is a wild ride - even if everything else was in place. I temper this with the knowledge that Waldron does have a good resume, and his body of work is good. After 3 games I figure he deserves the fanbase not going full-blown lunatic here. LOL, I say that after the past week of being full-blown lunatic myself

I know. That is what is so confusing. Flus? The inFlusence?
Other rookie QBs are doing well. JF has improved. Tells me our coaching sucks.
Most haven't. Lawrence was the "Can't Miss" guy of that draft. Bryce Young has been benched. And Fields isn't exactly lighting it up with 2 TD's, and 1 Int, and a QB rating of 47.5 (22nd qb in the NFL). If you pull up the 1st round drafted QB's over the past 20 years it isn't pretty. Trubs left here and I wouldn't say he's any better... maybe worse. Poor guy has 1 pass this year for 3 yards... that is "it" for him through three games. He changes teams about as often as I change my underwear... Bears, Bills, Steelers and now back with the Bills.
It is too early to close the door on Caleb or our coaches after 3 games.

ON that note :
If you're not aware of Troy's take on the situation.
I saw that yesterday. Troy Aikman basically is saying R.E.L.A.X. the guy is a rookie doing rookie things. He compared Caleb to his own struggles when he entered the league. He says this is what usually happens. Aikman ended up being one of the best quarterbacks ever to play in the NFL and is in the Hall of Fame. Jayden Daniels has one breakout game and all of a sudden people think Caleb is a bust because he hasn't had his breakout game in the first 3 games of his entire NFL career.

not closing the door on Caleb. Far from it, I think he's gonna be a good one. However, The door is rapidly closing on our coaches - but not after 3 games. it's his third season and Flus is still making stupid mistakes - too much confusion on the sidelines (2-pts vs 1-pt), terrible challenges, bad use of time outs, bad player personnell usage, on and on. After tomorrow is the end of the 1st quarter. time for the 1st quarter coaching grades. Flus has gotten passes so far due to lack of player talent, that time is over. He is the worst game managing HC in the division. Look what Goon Bay is doing. They moved on from AR and JL looks very good, He gets injured and Malik Freaking Willis replaces him without a hitch. Meanwhile we can't figure out how to get a TD for our #1 pick with multiple weapons on 1st and goal from the 4. I fear we'll get more of the same tomorrow. I'm prepping myself for it. Our coaching sucks, and I've had it with them. I try to find reasons to stick with them, but I can't find any, other than consistency. I'm like the male Cyndi Lauper - I just wanna have fun. This coaching staff is making that very difficult.
Now that that's off my chest, I hope we can get it together tomorrow and win one. Then another.
