He seems like a guy who usually drinks the Kool Aid. But sometimes I need to hear something like that. Swifty has often kept me from leaping off the ledge. I have the sneaky suspicion that he gets in "insider stuff" from his rubber chicken. If that is true that just confirms to me that his info is golden. We should be listening more to this guy.
Maybe, he'll have the rubber chicken on a future podcast.
They were blaming JF because he wasn't playing well regardless of what was going on around him. Anyone thinking things would be going better with JF still back there is taking crazy pills.
How quickly people have forgotten the holding the ball for 5+ seconds, the 2000 yard passing seasons, and the endless fumbles.
I still like JF and always will but Steelers are 3-0 cuz he is only being asked to manage the game while his D holds teams to 10 points. 90% of Fields throws have been short-range stuff with a lot of simple reads.
What is all really means is that Tomlin >>> any Bears coach. He finds ways to win games that Flus never could.
You do realize that what you said - "the Steelers are 3-0 cuz.." everything that follows that statement, can be summed up in a single word...
COACHING.
He's being properly coached. They are building him up the right way, and he is earning their trust game by game and they keep giving him more and more.
Did you watch any of the Steelers games? Did you see Fields throwing darts over the middle - that allegedly people claimed he didn't see too well despite throwing over the middle with accuracy a lot in college?
Look folks...
You do NOT need to tear down Fields to build Caleb up, and its not inaccurate to say the Bears win the Indy game, even with the bad play calling, if Fields was the QB, because Fields would have been more accurate on the deep balls and would have taken off for positive yards a number of times, which people don't realize in and of itself opens up the run game even if the coaching and plays can't. There is a LOT more to Fields game than stat nerds are aware of.
That being said, one look at Williams and you can see he commands the huddle better, sees the field better, and I believe has the higher ceiling.
I think both players can be extremely successful. I don't need to minimize what Fields is doing so far to justify supporting Williams.

I think others should also keep that in mind.
Some (more than you would think) fans feel that Tomlin isn't a very good HC at all. Citing that he has only won one SB because he inherited a stacked team built by Cower. They can't seem to rationalize that if not for Belichick and the Patriots in his way, He probably have at least one more Super Bowl ring in his possession.
