Mistakes, whiffed blocks, missed assignments, dumb penalties that kill drives... and it all ends up with 13 points in the game. You are not going to win many NFL games that way. Yes, there's plenty to clean up. Let's see if they do.

Sorry, but when stuff happens throughout the team. Little stuff that keeps happening to different players, you look at coaching. Either that or you have to blame lots of people at the same time. So, yeah it is players, I am sure but I am also sure that it is coaching.

I totally agree that it's fair to throw the coaches into the blame-mix. This is the season where we see what we have in our coaching staff. It is year-3 for Eberflus. Let's watch and see how the team performs. My hope is that it is good. But if it isn't, then I'm fine moving on from him. But to be fair, I want to watch what he does this 3rd year before I make up my mind on him. Hope he is good though.
Also, let's see what Shane Waldron can do. His offense looked pretty lame in the first 2 games... but I remind myself they are the first two games with a lot of new moving parts that need to be synced up. Same as with Eberflus. Let's watch and see if things improve. Honestly, I do believe they will incrementally improve over the course of the next 15 games. Could be a really good offense this year, but it needs time to cook.

The Waldron thing is really disappointing for me. I so want to like him. And I had high expectations. I have no problem with the first game being totally flat offensively. What is worrying me is that with the talk about how he tailors the O to his players and is good at making adjustments, I REALLY expected to see changes for the second game. When that didn't happen, I am now wondering. This next game will be better. But I have seen this movie before. Team has issues. Everyone sees the issues. Then they play easier games and the issues are not so apparent and everyone says the issues are fixed. But the issues are still there and when the team plays better teams, get exposed again. The team continues in this cycle again and again.
What I am counting on here is Warren and Poles. I have to say, my faith in both has been a little shaken. Warren with the stadium and Poles with the OL. But I think this time we have better people on top that might actually know what is truly wrong instead of throwing darts. Because of that, I am hoping that it will get addressed. Of course, there is also the real possibility that because the season is underway, they have an idea of the cause but we are stuck riding it out until the season is over. Hopefully CW will still be CW at the end of the season.

I agree with all of that. Regarding the playing better teams while sustaining good play - I believe having a solid OL opens up the offense to sustaining the winning against the big-boy teams. That is the key to being a big-boy team ourselves. We are missing the OL piece. Oh, I expect the OL to improve this season. I really do. But the ceiling for this group is average. And we'll all be relieved if it can be average this year. But for us to be the team that can win the NFCN and be successful against playoff teams - that will likely require a really good OL, and not just an average OL - and certainly not a bad OL like we have witnessed these first 2 games.
