He didn't have a great game, missed some wide open deep passes, and was off on some pretty easy short passes. Some of that was his IOL being a welcome mat for the Tenn DL; but not all of it.
The fact that he didn't crumble under the pressure is a good sign. But I'm hoping he has a good bounce back game over the next 2-3 games he cannot afford, in this city, to have these kind of games stack up.
That should alarm some fans. Personally, I find it very comforting!
Vikings. Be nice. They treat us very well over on their messageboard.
ahh, okay. Knew it was a rival.... I way prefer viking fans to packer fans. I guess I should have put a ? at the end...
"Must be a packer fan?"
+1 FWIW, I have been on Funkytown 's Vikings board for years now and have really enjoyed it. Good people there. I have never - not once - been treated badly as a visiting Bears fan. And I've always appreciated how ptisme has contributed here sharing Packers info that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. It is good to have some interaction between NFCN fans if it is in a civil way.

What's goin on sir? How ya doin? LOL Packers? How dare he!!! PSHHHHHHH! But, my team of disdain is the Cowboys. Almost puked when i saw the second game due up on Fox. Had to switch over the Chargers/Raiders game for the love of God. For what it's worth, i'd even take the Bears or Packers over the Cowboys. Not just a Vikings fan but a Southwest side Vikings fan. Grew up near 63rd and Kedzie. Became a Vikings fan when i saw Fran Tarkenton play. So, Vikings, Cubs, Blackhawks, is where it's at in my world.
Also feel that Sam Darnold is gonna be the story of the year this season in the NFL. We shall see.

Fan Tarkenton was an exciting guy to watch play for sure. He was a late 3rd round draft pick who put together a 17 year Hall of Fame career. I also remember the incredible defensive line back then, Carl Eller and Alan Page, Jim Marshall, and Gary Larsen (The Purple People Eaters). What is scary is that it seems like yesterday I was watching those guys play. I especially liked Alan Page, not only because he ended up on the Bears, but he went to Notre Dame and I followed them back when he was in college.

Welcome to the messageboard. Glad you're here.

Gratitude!! Vaguely remember asking my Dad who that guy was. So, Fran must have been doing his thing (Scrambling). Must of intriqued me lol because QB's didn't really do that back then. Was enough to make me a Viking fan for life.As painful as that is.
You know he's trolling right? He only wants a reaction.
Nuh -uh though. I'm just don't go around wearing rose colored glasses. Some people think CJ Stroud is the next big thing at QB. After one season mind you. We'll see what he's really about this year now that the league has had a good look at him.
70 % of Vikings fans were cryin when Kirk Cousins left. I said good riddance. He might leave the NFL a rich man. But, he won't be bringin home a ring. Unless he rides a bench on a SB winning team.
90% percent of Vikings fans were all up on drafting JJ McCarthy. I thought he's a bust. So far i'm right, he's a bust. lol a big one at that. Only in Viking land do you lose your #1 pick for the season. Before he even plays a meaningful game lol. He's Rookie season starts next year lol. So Viking.
Back to Caleb Williams. 94 pass yards and a lot of badly missed throws in his 1st NFL game. I'd say he had the yips, it's only gonna get harder for him goin forward. Let's face it. The NFL is a far cry from USC and the Pac. Whole nother world in fact. Long way to go before i crown him the next Joe Montana! just sayin.
Hope he isn't the next Vinny Testaverde for ya all. Vinny the testicle lol
