It makes some good points. Poles has invested in the OL these past 2 off seasons, including drafting Wright in the 1st round in '23.
LINK Chicago Bears GM makes strong statement about what he thinks of the offensive line
The Bears added plenty of depth to the offensive line this offseason. The Bears signed interior offensive linemen Matt Pryor, Ryan Bates, Coleman Shelton, and Bill Murray in free agency. They drafted Kiran Amegadjie in the third round of April’s draft. Poles has high praise for the newcomers. During his press conference on Wednesday, Poles said he’s comfortable with the offensive line. “I actually let one of the guys go on cut-downs and I was like, ‘Man, you did an excellent job. I wish we could keep you here,'” Poles said, via the Bears’ website. “He said, ‘This is the deepest room I’ve ever been a part of.’ So we have more versatility, more depth. Shoot, we have 10 guys, so I feel comfortable. Obviously, you want your starting five to be healthy and ready to go, but I feel more confident in the depth of our offensive line than I ever have before.” One can’t argue with Poles’ assessment of depth. The Bears have players they can plug in when injuries happen this season. However, there are still worries about the talent of the starting five.
We won't know until we are well into this upcoming season. I honestly don't know what to expect. Some days I'm standing out on the ledge. Some days I'm drinking the Kool Aid. I am so ready to see real games again. I try to remind myself, and prepare myself for this young team with a rookie QB1, to be a work in progress throughout this season. But we should see a better start than last year's season. Part of that problem was the OL that was injured and the depth struggled.
These next 10 days are seeming like an eternity to me. Bring on the football season.
We should be hoping for the next 10 days to solidify the OLine. I know a few fans still hoping that Davis gets cut. I'm hoping he recovers enough form to be a plus assist and makes the OL better. 10 days and counting....

Yeah, even though I've been dogging Nate Davis for awhile, I fully admit that this team NEEDS him to at least be average for us. I'd take average performance from him this season and be thrilled. If we get anything above and beyond that, hey, I'm gonna be ecstatic.
EDIT: And if Jenkins can stay healthy, that is huge for our season. He is an amazing OG when he's healthy. And I think he makes Brax better as a LT. Heck, he'll probably be a solid help for our C too. These guys play as a unit and Jenkins elevates the play of the unit.

Mahomes and other top QBs only need average OLine play to be who they are. If Williams can get average OLine play that would be great. I feel for Drake Maye in NE, that OL is considered bottom 3 in the NFL AND he has no one I consider a + skill position player.
