The two centers mentioned, Clapp and Stromberg, are just not good players. Stromberg might be a project if you wanted to develop him like we did Kramer. But neither of these guys are half the player our own Doug Kramer is. Kramer looks really improved this year. He is entering his 3rd season and is young and on a rookie contract.
I'm sure hoping that is due to the Bears having a better roster now, and no need to dumpster-dive through other team's garbage. One can hope anyway.
As a fan, I am proud they didn't have to dumpster dive this season. We added some guys to the practice squad, but that's just churning and burning based on Dline depth and injuries.
