I noticed Eberflus mentioned something positive about Matt Prior at RG and he said RG is up-in-the air being evaluated. No decision yet on who will start there. Bates is injured, so it's something to tuck away. I went back and watched Prior at RG in the last game and he looks solid. He seems like a crappy tackle, but a very solid RG. Dude is massive and hard to get around pass-protecting. He just looks better to me in pass-pro than Nate Davis has since being a Bears player. The positive is that there is some decent depth now on the OL. At least it seems like it's pretty good.

Well, that fixes a position in need. The thing is that I thought the position was om with Davis and I wasn't counting it as a real position of need. Boy, was I wrong.
If that's becomes solid, we still have a guy on the line that can't stay healthy and a ? at C. Not great, but better than before. I'll take any position on the OL becoming solid. It is SO important.

+1 My guess (wild guess, admittedly) is that Brax/Jenkins/Sheldon/Bates or Prior/Wright is a pretty decent starting group. Nate Davis would be a good backup this year once he gets into game shape again. Ja'Tyre Carter has been decent in preseason at LG. He graded out over 80 so far run-blocking and has not allowed a sack - and only 2 hurries. So if Jenkins does get injured it's not disaster. Doug Kramer has been impressive at center so far. He has come a LONG ways developing. He's graded out over 80 in both pass and run blocking (almost 90 run blocking... very impressive to watch him play so far). I don't think he'll be safe on the practice squad this year.
The other depth players are decent. I don't think the OL will be great, but it sure should be league average level. I'd be thrilled with that this season. Next season upgrade more, but we're okay I think this year.
It's good to see the Kramer pick is actually becoming a solid player and possibly our future C.
Yeah... I didn't actually want to type it and jinx it (If he fails I still get to blame it on you), but yeah. Looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel and it might not be a train
