We sure need these guys to stay healthy. Last year the OL injuries seemed to really hurt the team from the beginning of the season. Jenkins, Jones and Davis were hurt (missed a total of 20 games between them). And Davis struggled when he did play. It just killed the first half of our season.
Also, I hope the Bears name the C and set the starting-5 now. Flip flopping centers on the rookie is less than ideal. I have no problem with the two guys getting reps with Caleb up to this point. In fact that's a good thing in case the starting C goes down with injury this season. But now it's time to get the starters working together as a starting unit. And I so hope the OL has relatively good health this season. If the OL has a solid season then that will help the rookie QB1.

Dang. I had not thought about the fact that Nate Davis is the Bears most expensive offensive lineman. They still have three rookies salaries on the line and the new center position veterans they picked up in the off-season.
There are teams paying their left tackle more than the Bears are spending on their entire starting offensive line and QB.

I think the Bears were hoping Nate Davis would be solid this year. And maybe he will be. It is early in summer training camp so we don't have to panic at this point. But at the same time, it's a BIT of a concern when both starting guards are iffy health-wise, and Davis has really not shown much since being with the Bears. He just has not looked like a quality starter so far. At least Jenkins plays well when not on IR.
The best case scenario would be for the Bears to set their starting-5 now and let those guys start working together as a unit until the season begins. Not being able to do that last season due to injuries and Davis' personal issues, led to a bad start to the season. With a rookie QB1 in particular, it sure would be great to have that OL healthy and ready to roll game-1 on. Then next draft/FA the Bears need to add whatever is needed to upgrade the line.

The issue I have is that he is never on the practice field. I don't know how someone becomes solid if they are not practicing. We are going to need some of that Tice Pixie dust

I know. I feel bad for the guy being hurt so much. Same with Jenkins. This time it is a groin injury... and I'm wondering if this is something that will be an ongoing problem this season, or something that can completely heal and that's the end of it being a problem for 2024? Just a minor thing.
One other thing I've been hearing is that Wright is getting beat by Sweat all the time. Like, any time Sweat wants to get past Wright, he seems to do that effortlessly. I get it that Sweat is very talented. But I sure don't like hearing he can beat Wright any time he wants. Sounds like Sweat could blow up Caleb Williams pretty much any time he wants to... Wright can't stop him. davidl kept telling me Wright had slow feet. Maybe I'm about to eat some crow here and have to admit David was right.
And what was Braxton Jones' injury? I think he's back now.

A weak groin. How long does it take for a vagina to heal?

Swifty says Brax is back and looking good. The rookie has 37-inch arms and Wright is about 33-inch, slow feet, weighs 335. Move Wright inside same as Jenkins, if the rookie can play RT. I would be looking at that scenario.

They should definitely be considering that alternative
