Some NFL owners have discussed a CAP for QB's

The impact on the cap qb’s are receiving, or will be receiving, is an issue. That being said, I’m not sure how they can go about solving it as the NFLPA won’t buy into any future limitations on earnings with a cap already in place.

A more simple way to lower their cap is to bring back 2000's style football.

We have became far too offensive friendly in today's NFL. Making so even a Tier 2 guy is needed to even have a chance at the playoffs. No other position in Football has this effect but QB.

T-1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: $55,000,000

5. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: $52,000,000

T-9. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: $45,000,000

T-9. Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons: $45,000,000

Around half that list is Tier 2 guys making top 10 money. I see Dak and Love demanding 60 million. In the next 5 or so years. I can see the average QB contract being 100 million a year.

I guess in time it will work out. One thing I appreciated about Brady was he stayed in New England for less than the going rate for years to ensure he had a competitive team around him. QBs will have to accept less for the good of the team. If I was a top QB I could live quite well on 30 to 40 million, the trick may be longer contracts for QB in return a discount to have a supporting cast. Be interesting to watch.
