OL C Connor Williams is ‘in discussions’ with several teams

This article brings up some interesting points to consider regarding Poles adding center Connor Williams to the roster.  I'd add this guy in a heartbeat though.  Yes he's coming off a December ACL injury, but he would be a solid long-term upgrade.  This would give our interior OL some nice depth.  Let Bates and Nate Davis battle it out for the starting RG position.  The loser of that battle is pretty decent depth at G and/or C.  Yes, Davis is getting a lot of money to be a backup this year (if in fact he'd lose out to Bates), but the Davis contract is water over the dam now.  Move on.  If he's a backup quality dude, so be it.

EDIT:  Also, it would light a fire under Nate Davis because his "next" contract will be peanuts compared with this one if he's deemed a liability instead of a legit quality starter OL.  I don't lump Nate Davis into the Claypool "fail" category - yet.  But he needs to show something this year, that he can still perform better than what he delivered last season.
