Hoge & Jahns were wondering out loud if Nate Davis may be the odd man out this season. Yes, it's VERY early to think of Nate Davis being done as a starter. But they have the vibe that something just isn't "right" here with him. Hope this is just bogus (we need him to be a solid starter, finally, here). But they pointed out how lukewarm Eberflus' answer was when questioned about him. If that is, in fact, what happens, then this will be tough for this season.
LINK Are the Bears Getting Caught with Their Guard Down? Starting guard Nate Davis continues to be unable to play full time at minicamp while healthy Bears left guard Teven Jenkins hasn't been able to interest the team yet in contract extension talks.

So far, Eberflus is officially NOT on board with dumping Davis.
Lorin Cox was ahead of Hoge and Jahns with the idea of moving Bates to RG.

Maybe the guy is hurt or dealing with some personal stuff again. The Bears gave this guy a $30-million dollar contract and he seemed to take the money and promptly disappear.
For what it's worth, here is exactly what Eberflus said when asked pointedly if Nate Davis was his starter this year: “Yeah, don’t know yet,” he said Wednesday. “I really don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see how it goes." Like what the heck does THAT mean? LOL, I contrast "that" response to when he was asked if Caleb was the starter after the draft... dude looked like he wanted to punch the guy who asked the dumb question and said straight-up he was the starter. Period. Ole Nate? Sounds like the dude should be packing his bags for the O'Hare flight out of here

That’s not the most recent Flus quote. Somebody pressed him on the coach-speak statement you cited, and Flus said flatly that Davis is the starting RG. The story is that his toe is still injured, but I think his problem may be more in his head.

I didn't know that about his toe. I went back and looked it up. That must be the injured foot from the Green Bay game late last season.
I never heard of any details on exactly what happened with that. Since it was at the end of the season, I don't recall ever seeing any detail on the injury.
