If he has a good enough year that he wants Anon StBrown money and someone is willing to pay him for it, I'll take the 3rd round comp pick and be happy.

I watched that part, and I don't think he is looking to also do a market reset. That was a well timed joke.
Yeah, he wants to get paid for performing. I think they make a deal happen. This is the time to do moves like that, while the Bears are not paying a QB veteran money.
He is 32 years old. So after this season he'll be a 33 year old WR looking for a contract. And his numbers this season won't be that great because of the crazy level of talent that's going to be competing for the ball. You have Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett & for that matter, Swift too - all needing to get fed on gamedays. You just do the math on that one and you realize KA isn't going to get the 11.5 targets per game that he got last year. No way he has another 1,200 yard season either.
He'll be a declining 33 year old with probably around a 700 to 800 yard season (at best). He's not gonna get Justin Jefferson (age 24) or Amon-Ra St. Brown (age 24, 1,500+ yards) "market reset money" and he knows that. I'll bet he takes a realistic contract with a West Coast team, closer to his family. He said his family is staying in California and not moving to Chicago.

That's probably the mostbrealistic outcome, I mean, he's a great veteran and will run precise, crisp routes but not be the focus of the offense. He will be a very valueable piece as part of the 3 headed WR monster.

I think a lot will depend on how well the Bear's offense gels with a new offense, a new QB, etc. I have heard a couple of folks on social media speculating that our ability to keep Keenan Allen will depend on how Allen perceives the team from the perspective of winning one or more SB. Since he is entering his mid-30s, he might (and I mean might) be attracted to an opportunity where he can be part of a very elite WR unit, win a championship or two and play with a bunch of good dudes. Could this be a place where he really solidifies a legacy and possibly a quick enshrinement in the HOF?
His gross earnings as a WR (assuming he earns everything on his current contract with the Bears) is over $75 million for his career. Eventually, money becomes less important to you. But I agree with what JABF says about getting closer to home. I've had to do a lot of work-related travel in my life and living on your own, thousands of miles away from everyone you love can really suck.
