Loved that article. They quote the Bears' new QB coach, Kerry Joseph. Joseph seems to be a really solid O coach. He is 50 years old. His background is rock solid, to the point that I could see this guy as our Offensive Coordinator if Shane Waldron has enough success here to get a head coach gig. Joseph was the guy who Waldron had at Seattle working with Geno. He 100% knows this offense so the transition would be seamless.
Joseph was a quarterback in college who went on to the CFL and was the winning QB in their equivalent of the Super Bowl there. He was the league MVP there too. He played pro ball as a QB for 18 years, including NFL stints for the Bengals and Seahawks. Caleb Williams is blessed to have this guy's veteran presence in the QB room.
He also has a lot of coaching experience over the years in various O coaching duties, from RB coach, WR coach, passing game coordinator, OC at the college level, interim head coach (college) etc. Both college and NFL coaching experience as he has busted his butt to climb the coaching ladder over the years. He's 50 years old now and a seasoned guy on offense. Yeah, I would think the Bears are grooming him for OC duties if/when Waldron gets a HC gig.
