His name keeps coming up. We don't have a generational talent at DT. He could be our man. Does old generation still count as generational? Is there a guide?

He is from that old generation. Old as dirt. But maybe just get him on a Geritol supplement and we can get a year or so out of him. He probably just has "tired blood"

Is that good or bad? If I eat green peppers, they keep coming up, and that's most definitely not good. It's very very bad...
I can't figure out this generational stuff either. It seems like every season there's a new generational dude. I always thought (I know, thinking isn't something I've been known for) that generations were like my greatgrandparents, then my grandparents, my parents, then me. That's 4 generations. So over 80 years or most likely even longer (I'm guessing roughly 20 years from being born to having your own kids - and that's just for argument's sake) there should be a total of 4 generational guys in the NFL. Since we have so many guys that are generational, maybe it's a different type.
Maybe it's like Baby Boomers etc.... Traditionalists (born 1925 to 1945) Baby Boomers (born 1946 to 1964), Generation X (born 1965 to 1980), Millennials (born 1981 to 2000), or Generation Z (born 2001 to 2020). But no, that's close to the greatgrandparents thing. Off-topic, now we're getting Gen Alpha (born 2010 to 2024) How does Gen A come after Gens X, Y (Millenials) and Z? And why the overlap with Gen Z? Anyway, not enough generations here to match what we're getting in the NFL.
Maybe it's a Generac Generation. They pump those Generac generators out on a conveyor belt. One after another. (But they all suck - you couldn't pay me to own a Generac, but that's a different story). But we don't really have enough generational guys in the NFL to be that type, and a generational guy isn't supposed to suck.
So like I said, I'm confused about it all. It might take generations to figure it all out. I think I'll head over to the Bar & Grill and do some thinking drinking on this subject...

You know you're old when I can remember stuff like that. Kids today just don't have a clue. They have instant messaging and all that. Imagine kids having to make a phone call with a rotary dial phone - on a wire so you had to sit right by the phone? Or on a party line?

It seems in this day and age that hyperbole has become the norm. Shock stuff for clicks and so when they think a player is going to be good, they make their point by saying they are generational. But its used so often on so many guys, it has lost it's meaning. Anybody that looks like they are going to be a probowler has become generational it seems.
All I care about is how the dud plays. Cautiously optimistic on the Bears offense. The pieces are sure there

Yeah, click-bait. That's why I don't have facebook or tiktok or instagram or any of that crap. So tired of the ads too - Remember so and so? You're jaw will drop when you see her now. All that hyperbole and bait and switch for clicks. And you can't hide from it either. Ah well, I miss the good old days when journalsim had honor and honesty.
But back on topic. Calais? Like the car?
Hmmm, wonder why his parents named him that? Back seat action?
The 4-cyl. engine in that Oldsmobile was nicknamed the Iron Duke. Sounds good to me.

I have a hard time sorting through the online stuff to figure out what is true and what isn't. When I first started hearing the bad stuff about Caleb Williams, I was pretty concerned that he was some nut case diva. But when I did a deep dive myself into learning more about him, he looked like a pretty decent person as well as a good player.
I am trying to keep an open mind about these players and coaches. I too am trying to be cautiously optimistic. LOL, November is usually my time for "depths of despair" stuff... maybe as early as October in a really bad Bears season. This present crew (players and coaches) probably won't be as great as some hope, but not as bad as some others fear - maybe they'll be somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. The only exception is the Croc Hunter guy... he'll be Hall of Fame by the bye week.
EDIT: That being said, I do get pretty hyped about the Bears and my other sports teams (even high school here in town). I'm a lunatic at games too.
