I think Borom is a goner and Booker will be the third DE over Robinson.
Sad that Borom didn't work out. He seems like he'd be a better fit at guard than tackle. His pre-draft profile described him as kind of lumbering with lateral moves, and too stiff legged when blocking on the move. That sure seems like what we see in him at tackle (LINK). That profile describes him as "More mauler than controlled blocker." Yeah, too bad he didn't do better here.
Might be a scheme thing. He seemed ok in Nagy's scheme...not so much in this one. A lot of times that's what it comes down to with guys.
As of Sunday night (4/28) I count 73 players on the roster so far, including those on the Reserve/Future roster. So, I guess we still need to sign 17 more players to hit the 90-man roster limit.
"Offensive lineman Larry Borom, a fifth-round choice of the Bears in 2021, has appeared in 39 games for Chicago over his first three seasons in the league, starting 23 of them. It is fair to wonder, however, whether he will remain in the Windy City for his platform campaign in 2024.
As Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune writes, the playing time that Borom accrued allowed him to hit the escalator in his rookie contract that boosted his 2024 salary to $3.12MM."
