I still think Poles will be signing a vet edge stopgap guy (Fowler?) over the summer. We really have only two viable edge players right now and Walker is a JAG.
No question that Edge/DE is the biggest weakness on this roster right now.
LOL, I know. But to be honest, the Bears were not going to fix their DT or Edge woes and get a quality starter with a 4th round pick this year. At least with the punter they got a day-1 starter and maybe a guy who can help the team for many years as a starter. The starter quality DT/Edge talent was paper thin this year from the start. It sucks but hey, if the Bears had used that Rome Odunze pick for one of the few quality D guys in this draft would you feel better? I wouldn't.
