Best available players, day-2 for the Bears now.

With two picks left, I'd like to see all trench guys just on principle. One OC and a DT/DE.

Seriously at this point I'm more interested in UDFA. Not that I expect any to contribute because they rarely do, but its a good way to take a flier on a high production low physical trait guy or the opposite, a guy with high physical traits but low production.

But, thats a different thread for a different day.

I've been thinking all day that the Bears probably don't need to trade up tonight.  Let the draft come to them at #75 because there should be some really good talent - especially interior OL talent.  But, if there is someone really special and worth the trade up, hey, go for it.  But it just doesn't sound like a good year for great DL talent.   

That's exactly my hope for how this unfolds.

I don't know what their reasoning was, but we did keep hearing about this draft class being a weak one for DL guys this year.  So I wonder if the remaining DT/DE talent was such weak sauce by the time that #75 pick rolled around that they just didn't feel that what was left had any value to them.  It would just be checking a box off for a position of need.  

I've gotta figure they believe Kiran Amegadjie to be a solid player when developed.  High ceiling guy.  Gotta admit that when I saw them take him, my first thought was that he would play G at the NFL level... yes, long arms and all.  He is 6'5" 323 with good athleticism.  He's a local kid from Hinsdale that the Bears did invite to one of their 30 player visits, so they must have seen something special in him that they like.  If they would get a quality OL (eventual starter) out of this after some development, that would be a good return on investment.  For what it's worth Jacob Infante raved about the pick.  Says he can play OT or OG.  "Slam-dunk pick. Ranked No. 58 on my board. Hinsdale native with tackle-guard versatile. Love this selection."

I'm beginning to appreciate that this Bears front office resists reaching for a player just to check a box for a position of need.
