It is soundling like a lot of people around the NFL are beginning to take the Bears more seriously now that Poles/Eberflus (and Warren) are remaking the franchise.
LINK Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Poles came to town to change the losing narrative surrounding the team. It now appears that people around the NFL are noticing a change.

He really has made some great moves and things are MUCH better than when he came in. What he does this year will also be verry telling as to what path he is on, but I for one have no problem at all with what he has done.

That's true, this year should give us a good idea of what path the Bears are on. He will have the main rebuild infrastructure in place, including his quarterback. While 2025 should add important pieces, the main stuff is in place now - enough to get the vibe as to whether or not Poles/Eberflus can get it done here in Chicago. Or not. It really is a milestone season. I think by the end of this coming season we will know what we have (that "you know it when you see it" thing). We all can quibble here over the won-loss expectations, but we all will pretty much know if this is Poles/Eberflus thing is going to work or not by then.

I would argue that Flus and Waldron are under the gun. Poles has given them a lot of ammo to work with and they need to show results.

I agree that this coaching staff is under the gun to show improvement this season. It looks like most people in the NFL look at this team and believe it will take another positive step this season. Poles/Eberflus won 3 games the first year, 7 games last year - this year (even in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL) the Bears should stack a few more wins. However - I do think that if the OL ends up being the piece that cripples the offense and our new rookie QB1 gets the crap kicked out of him this season - that is one thing that will come back on Poles. He will own that whether he likes it or not.
IMO there is an expectation of improvement all based on Williams and an improved OFF. Poles only knows where the outlet is for under Flus' chair. and IMO Waldron is HC if/when Flus gets canned.
The improvement really comes down to luck. #1 overall pick. Teams that are in cap hell. Team that needed a QB badly last year which gave up the #1 overall pick this year and DJ Moore.
The only thing I don't agree with Poles is keeping Flus while you have a rookie QB. Flus has one of the worst records for the Bears.

But context matters. Eberflus was hired - and then Poles tanks his first season. He then nukes the roster and adds 30 new young players for the 2nd season. This is exactly what Eberflus was given these first 2 seasons. So when we say he has one of the worst records, it matters what the context was there. Throw in the fact that he was a rookie first time head coach and you realize the guy wasn't dealt a very good hand to start out his career as a HC.
This year is the one where we should be able to gauge if the guy is good or bad. This year.
