This article interviews several NFL coaches on what they feel is the key to developing an NFL QB. I paid particular attention to the GB coaches as I feel they have a real QB machine there. The comment about scars and confidence hit home as I feel that is exactly what happened to a few of our guys. I think it was starting to happen to Fields, but that dude is as tough mentally as I have ever seen.

I can't attest to how The Bears didn't develop their QBs before 2020 (when I joined the clan) but since I've been watching forcing their lame duck signal caller on a new guy. No coach wants to develop the last coaches guy. Nagy didn't want to do it with Mitch and Eberflus was indifferent to developing Fields. Which is why Caleb has GOT to light it up this year. Rookie or not; fair or not if Chicago doesn't make the playoffs Matt will get fired and Williams will suffer the same fate as his predecessors.
At this point we know the FO won't give the current regime time to work with our new QB if they don't improve. And considering the amount of talent around him there really is no excuse not to at least be in the postseason hunt, towards the end of the season. And even then that still might not be enough to keep everything together. As much as we hate it; as much as we dread it, the pressure is on NOW or we'll have to sit through another rebuild for the umpteenth time.
