He's training camp fodder. At least that's my take. I agree with the article: "He will need to perform well in preseason camp to make the 53-man regular-season roster." I have to believe we will see at least 20 or 30 more of these kind of guys signed for summer training camp. This young guy is 26 years old - so worth kicking the tires. A few of these guys will make the roster too. Most won't.
got to remember this team needs to have 90 players for TC and only have 4 draft picks. Going to see a lot of camp bodies and backup level players. Not every signing is meant to be a high level starter or depth piece.

Wait, you mean we shouldn't react to every signing with disgust because "WTF are they signing that guy? They want him to be the starting LG/RG/C/DT/S/CB/NB/QB?"

Spotrac has us at 68 active players so need 22 more guys to fill those remaining spots. Subtract 4 for our current draft picks and, yeah, lot of JAGs still to come!

Thanks for looking that up for me, even adding in UDFA's you are looking at another 10-15.

I know. It makes me shake my head when fans over-react with these type camp-body signings as if the sky is falling... like Poles is a bad GM due to us not signing a 90 man roster of starter quality players. SMH. I look at where Poles has positioned this team in a VERY brief span of time... beginning with the soft tank that set all of this up. So many people wanted Poles and Eberflus fired. Idiots. It's like some fans take a Novocain shot to the brain. Then they promptly take to social media to spout this crap.

Like I said before in a different thread, we scream and yell that the Bears have no depth, then when Poles and the FO sign players to be depth and troll through the churn looking for depth we scream and yell that they are signing worthless players.
We are all aware that most if not all of the guys signed for min contracts are nit coming out of camp, UDFA are cheaper and there will be more signings as teams churn.
But, man, it gets tiring seeing all the angst about some random G or T signing a vet min contract.
