Physically yes, mental processing on the field is questionable.
No one seriously denies that coaching and cast matter. I think we part company when it comes to the extent. We wasted YEARS here trying to "fix Jay" Cutler. As for Fields, he got a major pass from me years 1 & 2. Year 3 he does NOT get a pass. He had continuity at OC/scheme, a top-10 WR, and a top-10 TE. And he still sucked. He's out of excuses.
Oh and BTW, Luke Getsy immediately left and got another OC job, Darnell Mooney left and immediately got a big contract elsewhere, and no one wants to give up a measly 4th rounder for Justin. So yeah, maybe those are all mistakes and maybe 31 other GMs are all wrong but that seems like an awful lot of evidence to me that Justin just isn't a starting caliber NFL passer. At least RIGHT NOW he isn't.
The other factor I think many fail to consider is that NFL teams don't have the luxury of time and resources to salvage a failing QB. If another opportunity comes along (CW being an obvious example), they're not gonna sit on their hands for 6 years waiting while the previous guy tries to figure it out. Rookie QBs get 3 years to declare themselves in the NFL. Sometimes less if they really suck (Zach Wilson).
Regular old fans and media types could see and identify that Justin held the ball too long and failed to throw with decisiveness, anticipation, and good timing.
This isn't a new revelation. It's been known about him going back to college.
Why didn't Fields fix it? Gonna blame coaching for things HE himself clearly was aware of for years?
