Flus officially going to continue to call plays

I say we let Flus call the plays on D. And DC takes all the HC duties.
So, in fact DC is HC, but nobody knows that and cannot prepare for him.
Superman II - guy acting/doubling as President, but General Zod sees thru him when he asks him to kneel before him. I just hope nobody asks Flus to kneel.

It's not unusual for a head coach to be the play caller in games.  This isn't anything new.  We most notice it on offense where some of the best teams in the NFL have the HC calling the O plays.  And I think most of us understand that an NFL coordinator (O, D or ST's) does a heck of a lot more than just call plays.  I don't care so much who calls the plays as much as I just want the guy to be an effective play caller.  Here's a LINK to an ESPN article last August on how many HC's call plays on offense (LINK).  There are some really good teams out there that have the HC calling plays on gamedays.

Defense was definitely better once Flus took over last year. I still have mixed emotions on this one, o good DC should be able to perform this function and Flus can still intervene if he is against a call. My biggest objection is Poles claims he wants to see all his people excel and gain promotions. I know he said it primarily with respect to Ian Cunningham but a DC or OC for that matter not calling plays is going to have a much tougher path to get promoted. Other reasons already identified such as game management is also concerning.
