Got to be the ghost of George Halas..He'd offer $2.25 and say he was taking 0.25 off every day JJ didn't sign.
If the FT is between $3-4 it's not a terrible offer if you add in bonuses. Better than the FT.
Team should be wary about a player coming out of nowhere to do things he hadn't done in 4 years after he didn't get the extension he wanted. E-Jax is a real recent and legit example.

After he got his injury in 2018 against the Packers. He was never really the same. Sometimes I wonder if that caused it as well.

might of been; but they gave him his new contract in 2020, if they were seeing a massive dip 2 years after his injury and still gave him a contract that is on them. I think, more then the play, the fact that for 3 straight years he's played 14, 12 and 12 games is the real reason they let him go though. 14 games in a 16 game season is fine, but 12 in a 17 is closing in on to much.

Tomorrow is the deadline for the FT. It looked like this was going to be done and certainly still can be but I am pretty sure he will be tagged if they don't have an agreement tomorrow

He better
Bears will announce the tag tomorrow afternoon to keep us guessing. Poles is at least consistent. He will stick on his number.
That's a good use of the tag. It gives the Bears and JJ more time to work something out. And if he plays the entire season under the tag, hey, it's not the end of the world. Yes, Poles is disciplined with the money. Hopefully, over the long haul we don't get back into cap hell here - with under-performing old vets.
