He has, i read there are numerous prospects at the Senior Bowl that went through the practices but opted out of the game. Its the new thing to do. Less risk of injury in a meaningless game after spending a week being evaluated up close by GMs and scouts.

I've been looking at some of the other QBs in the draft (those not named Caleb) and am in the middle of a deep dive onto Michael Penix. While he had some serious injury issues in his first couple of years, he is possibly the best pure passer in this year's QB class.
He seems to have incredibly accurate placement skills and does a solid job if hitting his receivers in stride, allowing them to get decent YAC. Again, it may come down to his medical evaluation at the combine.

Yeah, I get that. But I think it's a missed opportunity. These are the guys that are worried more about getting hurt than showing what they can do, but JMO. I also get how much is on the line if they get hurt, so in a way, can't blame them.

For real? There are others?
And yeah, he is the guy that intrigued me too. Plus, he has the name.

I think the agents (who are pushing this) are taking the side that these guys have everything on tape, so the practice gives up close and personal info. The guys sitting out are not worried about not getting drafted. Pretty sure everyone who sits out still gets taken about where the "experts" have them pegged. Too much money at stake now even for a 4th round CB to risk an MCL on a "meaningless" 2nd down run play in the Senior Bowl. There is a big gap between even 4th round money and UDFA signing bonus.
This is the way now. Its the same reason Williams didn't play in his bowl game.
edit: found this
Fourth rounders will get between $4.5 million and $5.4 million. Fifth rounders will all get more than $4 million and less than $5 million. The first pick in the sixth round will get $4.1 million and the last pick in the sixth (No. 217) will get $3.98 million. Slightly more than $3.925 million that Mr. Irrelevant, pick No. 259, will make. These are 4 year deals, not fully guaranteed....players who went undrafted have signed three-year contracts worth $2,470,000, which is the equivalent of $823,333 per year, with $45,000 guaranteed.
