And what if you have crappy position coaches? Something the Bears have some experience with. How significant is that in having poor drafts or even poor player careers? My impression of how it worked was a bit different. I always felt like the GM and his scouts would solicit coaches on what to look for during the scouting process to find players that fit; in the scheme, in attitude and aptitude, and so forth, and then they determined who they would focus on.  Now I'm wondering if Chicago's poor track record with player selection doesn't stem from poor coaching hires?  It all leads back to the GM, though.
