I think everyone, including former NFL players and even former NFL quarterbacks have talked about the bizarro offense here. Multiple times I watched J. T. O'Sullivan's QB School film breakdowns of the Bears and he is astounded by the poor play designs AS WELL AS the poor play calling. Basically he says some of these thing make zero sense. They will not work. Over and over again he will back up and replay plays by our offense and say, "what are we doing here?" and comment on how bat-shit crazy the plays are (again, both the play design as well as the play calling). I've never played in the NFL so I do take notice when guys who have played the position - say Getsy's offense is horrific.
My point is that I'm sure every single Bears player sees this too. Man they just killed the team hiring Luke Getsy. And Fields had Nagy before that who did his own crazy stuff with Fields. Whether we keep Fields or trade him, I will always believe that (up to this point) he has not had a real coach. And that's yet another thing that a former player was talking about on the Score today... he said it is so crucial for a drafted kid to have good coaching. Guys like Farve, Rodgers and now Love, don't just become good on their own. Coaching matters. It matters a lot. Fields has not had that.

Agreed. And it's mind-blowing how the Bears keep going through mediocre, if not downright awful, offensive coordinators. When was the last time we had a legitimate bright mind in that position? Someone who understood defenses, understood game flows and game situations, someone who knew how to draw up and call plays to the strengths of our offensive players? I seriously can't name one. Instead, we get guys like John Shoop and Luke Getsy who appear to have ZERO football environment/logical/scenario knowledge. At some point, it has to change, right??

We need another Martz. And then he can get rid of Kmet
"I think for us, the expectation is for him to come back. We haven't thought or talked about him not being the quarterback. Again, I feel like everyone has their own opinions on it, BUT I DON'T THINK JUSTIN'S THE PROBLEM." - Jaylon Johnson
Shocker: Players stick up for fellow players. Players and coaches tend to blame each other.
In other breaking news, water is wet.
No one disputes Justin is a quality guy and immensely popular in the locker room and among the fanbase. This decision isn't about that.
Players have a limited shelf life in the NFL. If a guy like DJ Moore is wanting his QB to be Fields I do take note of that. That does mean something coming from him. He believes in Fields and probably doesn't want to change diapers on a youngster coming out of college - and possibly waste a few years of his career if the guy busts here. I do get that.

How many players were this vocal and supportive of Cutler? It doesn't always happen like this and its easy to tell the difference.
And a player like D.J. Moore knows a good QB from a bad QB better than us fans. He is staking his career on this to some extent. I wish I were a fly on the wall during his exit interview. I'll bet he also told Poles that Getsy was beyond bad as an OC and breaking the back of the offense.
