I end up with the same conclusion. But you keep going back to having the first pick and wanting to strike with it in case you are wrong about Fields. Tough, tough decision that will have an affect on the Bears for years.
It's not a slam dunk decision because it's all about accurately assessing his ceiling in light of the clown show way the Bears have handled their QB1 until now. Franchise scouts have to figure out what they would have with Fields if he had a decent team around him - competent coaches, a decent OL, an offense scheme that is a fit for his strengths, and better skill players. And before I get jumped on for saying he needs perfect coaches and players - I am not saying that. The scouts do need to figure out what he would be in a better offense than Chicago.

No, it's a really hard decision. And one that you don't know is right or wrong until next year is done and you have either kept Fields or can see how the new guy worked out.
It is going to take all of my formidable MSU analytical skills to figure this one out.
