One thing I do worry about with Poles is that he might be a bit too rigid on "sticking to his numbers" when negotiating with players.
I get that you do have to show restraint but stretching a bit for a player who checks all the boxes (good locker room guy, young, healthy, ascending) is sometimes necessary. He needs to pay JJ, period.
If he hadn't been so rigid before, he might have got him for cheaper that what he is gonna have to pay now.

Poles needs to be self-reflective enough to accept that he wanted JJ to get more TOs and he has. He did what you said was holding you back from paying him better.
So PAY HIM. Your "number" from a few months ago is no longer valid. It has been reset.
