It must have been amazing yesterday at Solider Field with the fans rocking the stadium with "We Want Fields" chants. D.J. Moore simply put it this way, "I want him to be the quarterback!” And player after player after player said the same thing to the sports media people in the locker room. They want Justin Fields to lead them. If the Bears would bring in Caleb I think two things happen. #1 they will lose the locker room. #2 Caleb is so shaky emotionally that he will be overwhelmed by teammates who don't want him, a fanbase who will put him under a microscope like they do all QBs here, and a sports media group that are even more critical than the fans - I don't see Caleb surviving that. Fields has the strong mental gears to be successful in the crucible of Chicago Sports media and fans who can be so very tough on sports figures (Trubs was crushed under it for sure).

The trade Fields debate is OVER. He’s not going anywhere.
The focus should now be on what Poles does with the two first round picks. Will he trade down to #9 again for a Trey Lance deal but lose on Harrison?
Will he use or trade the second pick?
I know what I want, but Poles never does what I want. LOL.

I understand you want MHJ and Newton in the 1st round. And I don't see anything wrong with either guy. Actually, I'd love to DJ and MHJ playing together.
But it all depends on how Poles has the prospects rated and how he rates the performance of recent acquisitions (like Dexter and Pickens).
He may have other options at WR rated at >95% of what MHJ brings to the table that he can get in the 2nd half of the 1st round. And he might look at getting someone he really likes at #10 with our 1st round pick and is willing to trade the #1 pick down to get another 1st round pick in 2025 and a decent 2nd round pick in 2024. Or maybe a swap in positions with Washington and include one of their starting DT's.

As it stands right now we are sitting REAL pretty with that number one pick. How many teams will be wanting to jump ahead of the other teams for a shot at a top ranked QB?

I know Poles is liable to do any of those things you mentioned. He may rather have a Trey Lance deal than Harrison. It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Whether he goes my way or trades down exchanging quality for quantity in the draft, my standard for Poles won’t change: Super Bowl ready by 2025.
