I believe he has given it his all. If the Chicago Bears organization had given it their all, I believe we would have had an elite QB1 here for many many years to come. Unfortunately, the Bears were not set up to support and develop him. The whole thing was mishandled from day-1. It would have been the exact same outcome if the Bears had drafted Patrick Mahomes when the Bears had the opportunity to draft him. All we can hope for is that the organization can do a better job in the future when it comes to the offense in general and the QB1 position in particular.

I think Fields did the best he could, given the situation. This team is notorious for not putting folks in positions where they can grow and flourish and it's been that way for the better part of 20+ years.

+1 It truly is heartbreaking for us Bears fans to witness this throughout the years and the decades. I often wonder "why" I remain a Bears fan in light of the many years of failure. I guess I just have the ongoing hope that someday they will change and turn things around for the better. I really have no clue as to what the organization will do after this season ends. I keep hoping that this new hire of Kevin Warren as president/CEO will be the difference-maker we have all hoped for - and he will make the moves necessary to end the failures here. This goes far beyond just having high draft picks or drafting another starting QB1 (we have had over 40 starting quarterbacks in the modern era and they have never flourished here). The "symptoms" are the failures to build an offense, but the underlying "disease" here is the franchise itself being horribly run. It encompasses the leadership that includes the owners, front office, coaches... it's just rotten to the core. We have all expressed our desire to have the franchise hire a "football guy" and they (finally) did that in hiring Kevin Warren. Now let's see if he is any good at fixing this franchise. Will he be up to the monumental task?
