Can we give this group of no names no one wanted some love? Outside of whitehair(rookie), Long(on IR), and Sitton(been injured), most of these guys people would have been happy to be off the team, or never on it, and most have talked this entire season about trying to replace. But guys like Larsen, Kush, Leno and ya even Massie. Have helped keep 2 of the 3 qb's they've protected for clean, 10 games 7 sacks, while helping the primary rb average over 5 ypc, and the all the rb's at 4.4 ypc while averaging over 100 ypg.
This group might not be the Dallas cowboys w/all the starpower and high round picks, but they are quietly, while injured, getting the job done at a high lvl. Ya they have their groaning moments(see last game on the last drive). But every OL gets beat, that Dallas OL has given up 21 sacks Bears have 24, and the Bears have thrown the ball 59 more times. If you take Cutler out of the equation(17 sacks on just 137 of the Bears 456 pass attempts), this OL only gives up a sack every 18 pass attempts, Dallas OL; 1 sack every 16 pass attempts.
This OL is really good guys and they're doing it w/out their best player(Long) and w/Sitton playing injured, and their doing it as a group that hasn't been together for even a full off season.
Could they use upgrades here or there, ya but it's so low on the list of even wants that it's not worth discussion right now. So many have wanted a capable OL for so many years that we've become blind to the fact that we might just have one already.
I'm very pleased overall with the OL. It will be great to see what we have next season when all are healthy. I haven't looked at the numbers, so I could be dead wrong. But it sure seems like Barkley gets the ball out quicker than Cutler. I do believe better pocket presence awareness has helped the OL too. Not at all saying that is THE reason. But I do believe it may be a contributing factor.

When in 10 games you have 2 qb's sacked 7 times, and in 5 games you have 1 qb sacked 17 times(more then double the other 2 in 1/2 the games) then one could reasonably assume that maybe the QB can help the OL look better and worse. Of course i'm not paid by PFF so what do I know?
I can tell you from a players point, having a good O line makes all the difference in the world. As a Chicago Bears fan I had no ideathere was such a thing as a good O line, especially one that using subs in place starters
They'll be better once they learn to hold like the Packers Olinemen hold . Basically it amounts to holding for a second or two , releasing for a second , then holding again ... it's only when u hold for 3-4 seconds in a row that they call you .
