"Kmet’s production — he had seven receptions for 43 yards Monday and has 56 catches for 482 yards on the season — reflects positively on the four-year, $50 million extension the team signed him to over the summer.
Kmet is viewed as a “Y” tight end, a blocker, with high-end receiving ability. He’s unlikely to put up gaudy statistics as a pass catcher, but he has developed into a reliable middle-of-the-field target.
Kmet is the only NFL tight end to play in every regular-season game since the beginning of the 2020 season."
LINK "Since Week 8 of the 2022 season, Kmet’s 12 touchdown receptions are second in the league for tight ends behind George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers. That’s right, Kmet has scored more than Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs in that span."

He is good, best TE we had after Martellus, and we can ride with him, but I def miss the burst, twitch in his game. And that will not get better. What did get better this season is his strength, he used to fall after 1st contract. He does yards after contact now, has vastly improved. And he is a Bears fan, loves to play for us. I take that any day.

I'd like to see the Bears add that kind of TE to go with Kmet. As that article says, Kmet is a "Y" TE who can block, but also has decent receiver skills. Maybe the Bears can get that burst/twitchy TE for an "F" guy.
Love Kmet, pair a legit F TE with him and you can run 12 formation all day. Moore/MHJ and Kmet/F TE addition and we can run or pass and stress the defense plus they gotta account for Fields. Thats 3-4 legit targets for Fields out of a formation we can utilize a lot of Herbert/RoJo.
F TE, a center, MHJ and a new OC and we're a top flight offense IMO
EDIT: Is it U TE or F? I thought it was U but looks like I'm wrong
