Statistics aside, Jahns says winning games is more important than anything else, because that’s what Poles/Flus will be judged on by McCaskey. There is some truth to that, but the Bears could win 3 of these games just playing decent defense and running the ball down the throats of opponents. I didn’t realize that — even with all the OL injuries — the Bears are still #2 in rushing. That’s amazing.

I agree.  I wonder whether 6-11 is enough for Flus to keep his job. I think losing badly twice to LIONS would be too much for Flus and Fields. It would be for me.

The problem that has dogged the Bears for a long time has been a lack of balance on the team.  My pipe dream would be to have a Bears team that has a solid passing game along with a running game that CAN run effectively as needed.  That doesn't mean you have to be rushing for league leading yardage.  Just be a legit threat to keep opposing defenses honest.  Be able to move those chains when you need a few yards.  Be able to score in goal line situations.  And also be a threat to gut a D with some runs that keep the D honest and having to defend the run game as well as our passing game.  And as much as I rant about the offense, I do realize you have to have a decent defense also.  Balance.  One dimensional teams are too easy to beat by good teams.  You have to have some balance.  

Here's what frustrates me.  Can you imagine how lethal the Bears offense would be if they could pass effectively - and still have this VERY solid running game talent?  But instead we see these pitiful games with a passing game that is just so hit and miss.  Drives fizzle with stupid penalties that put the team in 1st and forever situations... then there are the sacks that do pretty much the same thing... then there are the fumbles and interceptions...  then the drops of catchable balls... etc. etc. etc.  It's deflating to watch the impotent O kill itself with the ineptitude.

Flutsy is 0-8 in division.
