Going by this tweet, the man is playing at an elite level at guard. Outside of his injury problems. Do we take a chance with him and attempt a long term contract while he's cheap or would you want to have him prove he can be healthy for another year?
He has to stay healthy the rest of hte year. If he does, he'll get an extension, but likely w/some bonsus for him for staying healthy, and some outs for the team if he continues to struggle w/it.

Yeah, I agree and that's how I would play it as GM.
Finish the year, Tevin, and if you stay healthy we will talk extension. It will include some portion set aside as bonus money for playing in say 15+ games a season.

+1 to you and Ric on this ^^^^^
One encouraging thing is that the back surgery seems to have been successful. The calf strain could have happened to anyone, and hey, every player is going to have some of those kind of injuries... it was the back surgery that scared me. If he gets through the rest of the season healthy then work on an extension.
Try and do it now. We know the man can play when hea, we also know heβll most likely miss time. Build an incentive based contract that addresses this and get it done.
