I didn't expect this. I thought our running game was good.
LINK Bears fire running backs coach, second assistant to leave team this season
This is the second time an assistant coach has left the staff this season. In September, Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned. Per his statement, Williams left the team to “take care of my health and family.” The Bears did not give a reason for Williams leaving the team.
Eberflus took over defensive play calling after Williams’ resignation. The Bears don’t have an assistant running backs coach, but someone on their offensive staff likely will handle the position group in the interim.
I won't hold Flus responsible for this teams record, Poles didn't ever set them up to win, I'm kind of surprised how often they compete b/c the team clearly doesn't give up on him.
But having 2 HR related issues w/your staff, one forced to resign the other flat fired is a huge issue. It speaks to his ability to keep his staff in check, and even more so his ability to vet good people to hire onto his staff.

Ya this is just unbelievable actually. Do you hope it goes farther up the coaching tree? I mean now do they have to hire a RB assistant to the assistant lol? Getz can barely do his job so does he quarter ass the RB job (quarter ass because he barely halfasses his own)? This is really the only thing the Offence has done a decent job at hahaha.

That was my initial thought also. The one area of the team that seems to be working well - and the coach gets fired midseason. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
My 2nd thought is that I don't think the McCaskeys or Warren would touch Harbaugh after this (probably wouldn't hire him anyway) after all the drama with Harbaugh's tenure at UM. This Bears drama makes that possibility even more remote.

I can't see Harbaugh coming to Chicago. If there was a chance he has blown it with all the sideshows he has produced.
After our own HR disasters I can't see Warren wanting another circus to deal with.
WTH they doing over there? This has to be a first.
Eventually all of this will become public. It does make you wonder what these guys were into. And is it two different things, or related? And are there other shoes to fall now? LOL, things that make 'ya go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, right?

yeah, my first thought was to wonder if the two of them were in cahoots with something or other. We may not find out for a long time, if ever. Unless it comes out in a law suit the McCaskeys are very secretive about this kind of thing.

Kind of difficult to know the dynamic between Poles and Flus, though. If Poles went out and got the guys that Flus told him he needed, then it's still mainly on Flus. Either way, there won't be too many tears from anyone when this regime is swept out the door after this season.
