That is a good point. I think we're just sad to see the Bears look so bad in a game. Even if it is preseason it still hurts. But the real season could be better.
Well if you're looking for optimism this is a pretty young team. It's possible they get better as the season goes on getting more experience as they go. This as opposed to the older teams we have in previous years. If they looked bad early it wasn't likely they were going to look much better as the season went on. What you saw early on was unlikely to change much as an older player has usually hit their ceiling already.
I wasn't happy with the game in how the Bears performed, however, I think we tend to forget something, the Bears is still a team that is a work in progress.
Very true brother but that wasn't progress by the offense yesterday. That was severe backsliding.
I agree, the offense sucked that game and the defense was worn out.
The game sucked and was hard to watch. I couldn't watch the whole thing. I'm not going to freak out about it though. Any sports fan with their head on straight knows that the preseason does not prove how your team is going to look like in the regular season. The first two games are still not a good indication of how the season will end up.
That being said, this is still not a very good team. They are not the worst team in the NFL as some would suggest but they are going to struggle. There are a lot of kinks to get worked out and when they do you will see some impressive wins. Overall I think 8-8 is the ceiling for this team though. They are really going to need some guys to step it up in order to do better than that.
Part of the problem for us as we watch the suckage unfold on our TVs, is the memories of the 50+ point games given up so often not long ago. I see the suckage start, and panic about the potential to sit through another year of humiliating losses. That makes me unable to r-e-l-a-x. It's more like r-e-f-l-u-x.

I keep hoping that it is just we have Expired vanilla plays and when we actually execute real season plays. The big boy pants go on and then we get it done. <fingers crossed>

R E L A X not when you have Cutler as your QB. I will put that with a big HOWEVER, this O-line is a real work in progress and where exploited very badly Saturday. So maybe if they can fix the line maybe that could have some major impact on the O's ability to play, I'll hold my breath and see. NO I won't.

Nobody likes a kinky football team, however, if Ojibway Bob's avatar would like to discuss the details...

Kinky belongs in the bedroom, not on the football field. Unless of course it's that lingerie football league.
I look at it this way : this isn't a SB year it's not even a playoff year . What it needs to be though is a development year - a bona-fide development year where we use as many of our young guys as possible and actually make them make strides which will make them and this team better in the long run ( while weeding out all non-hackers ) .

I agree, dang Shaw and Grasu they had to go down that would have been a nice thing to see develop or not. At least we would know where to head after such experiments.
