That's great news. Bears need to see what they have, or don't have, in Brax before this season ends. Good to see him practicing again.

Great to hear it. I was thinking we may need to look at Alt as LT2 in the next draft by trading down.

I was thinking this:

Pick 1 (2-4 or better) MHJ
Pick 2 (8-10) Alt
Pick 3 (17-20 if we can trade one of our 2nd's this year plus a 2nd next year) JJ McCarthy

Then Jones can be a swing tackle. But all fantasy stuff as we have to see what Jones has to offer for the last 9-10 games.

Great cannot wait for an uptick in the procedural and holding penalties to skyrocket. Luckily Wright even w/one hand is still capable of solo'ing most players so maybe the team can go back to using a TE to help Jones.

Critical evaluation next 9 games for Brax.

Stay healthy
Show ongoing improvement
Provide confidence you are the LT going forward

If he can do those things next 9 games, it removes LT from the "1st round needs" category. It also makes MHJr the #1 non-QB draft target for our GM in the spring.

Yeah, I want MHJr, not gonna lie.

If Poles drafts a LT instead of Harrison, that should seal the deal even with you and JABF that Poles deserves to be fired.

The only thing I need to see with Brax is how he handles bull rushers. He is very solid in all other areas. He and Wright have opposite strengths/weaknesses in pass protection.

It’s hard to criticize his work last year except for the bull rush problem. He is an excellent run blocker, and has no problem with speed rushers.

No LT in the draft is worth passing on Harrison. Period.

That's the bottom line. I am cautiously optimistic that Braxton Jones can be a solid LT for the Bears. But he has to prove that in the remaining games. I don't expect him to be perfect and never give up a sack or commit a penalty - even the All-Pro level tackles are less that perfect. But I do expect him to play better and have fewer penalties. If Brax can showcase this, then bring on Harrison... I'm so hoping the Bears make that happen.
