I saw that too, although I had a very different take. I saw a QB who had no idea what he was doing and a center who may have been giving the wrong calls. Given that Whitehair is a veteran it's just bizarre. Of course he also couldn't snap the ball for shit either. At some point he got benched. I don't know how much of that you can blame on coaching (regardless of the current quality), and none of that has to do with the scheme. At some point players have to execute.

It looks like multiple layes of failure. I agree about Fields. And Whitehair is yet another issue The guy looks finished as a starter-quality center. Which is weird because he is not THAT old for a center. I don't understand that situation at all. Regarding the coaching, you may be right, but it sure has looked like the players don't understand who they are to block on many of these plays. Guys just come in untouched. We have seen that going back to last season. I can definitely understand whiffs, but not that often. The two former NFL offensive linemen breaking the video down here, talk like it is very basic blocking assignments in those situations - but our OL are not doing these basic things. I guess the question is it due to them not being coached as far as how to execute, or are the coaches failing to communicate basic blocking scheme - or are the players (all) that bad as players these past 20+ games? I find it difficult to believe the small army of OL players who have started over the past season and a half - have ALL been idiots who cannot grasp basic blocking assignments. Or, I guess it could be some of both failing too. So, who knows, right? I just know it's not getting done on offense.

They aren’t idiots. They might get confused about the assignment once in awhile, but the vast majority of the time, surely they know their assignment. I figure it usually comes down to whether they can beat the guy in front of them. Let’s face it. They simply aren’t getting the job done.

We've always been told how important it is to have the OL playing as one unit in perfect sync. Hard to do when the lineup changes 30 different times like that.

That video being broken down by two veteran OL was very interesting. What they pointed out seemed to make sense. Those two guys had 16 years of NFL OL experience between them, so they must know something more than us fans, right?

So, one could argue that the problem is all the injuries and 30 different starting lineups rather than Eberflus coaching. Add in the fact that these players are not very good to begin with, and you get a situation that exceeds Eberflus’ coaching ability….maybe beyond any coaching solution. I go back to the point that Flus had a good defense with the Colts — better players and fewer injuries.

That's a good point. It's difficult, if not impossible, for me to sort it all out as to how much each contributing factor is affecting the team's overall performance. But that is a valid point, that it's not just one factor. It sure adds up to a tough season to watch as fans. I do hope we get to see better play today, especially in regards to Tyson Bagent having his first career NFL start at QB. His family has traveled here from West Virginia to watch him play. I am hoping for the best today.

That's a good point. It's difficult, if not impossible, for me to sort it all out as to how much each contributing factor is affecting the team's overall performance. on a tangent here - same with my calculus teacher. He would go on and on for forever about the room we were in - it was a chemistry lab: (he was a short guy) the small cabinet in front of the chalkboard only allowed him to use the bottom half of the board. The board was never erased before he got there. The erasers were never cleaned and were so full of chalk they wouldn't erase and made too much dust in the air. The sound echoed. Then he finally got around to the lesson. He put the equation on the board, spent 15 minutes showing us how to do the algebra (that we already knew) to set up the calculus portion, then he says: "Then you do the calculus and the answer is...". I never learned a thing from that guy but somehow got a passing grade.
