HOF excecutive Bill Polian to Bears?

IMHO this is the only type of move left for the McCaskeys to make if they want to resurrect and save their franchise.  If they blow this opportunity or pass on it then I believe they will remain among the ranks of NFL bottom feeders who are also owned and operated by non-football people.

In Polian the McCaskeys have an opportunity to hire a man similar to Jim Finks when he was hired as an Exec VP by GSH and given control of all football operations reporting only to the old man himself.  Mugs was being groomed to take over from GSH but Finks ran the show as far team operations and he helped to build a team that should have won several Super Bowls had GSH not passed and the McCaskey clan took over.

I think we can all count on the fact that Ted Phillips will not be in favor of this because the only way a guy like Bill Polian or any other top NFL Exec will come to Chicago is if he has total control over the team, coaching hires, and even GM Ryan Pace and his staff.  Phillips will need to be completely out of the picture and Polian or whoever reports only to GMcC himself.

IMHO that's the bottom line and the only measures left than have any hope of creating a long lasting change of culture at Halas Hall.  Bill Polian is the type of guy Ryan Pace should be apprenticing under not John Fox.  If Polian is hired and he elects to keep Fox I'll abide by that but if he isn't, or someone equally qualified, I've had it with Fox and the entire works until the day comes when someone wakes up and realizes for all the changes they make it just a different day with the same old shit.
