No one is saying Carter isn't talented but Chicago was not a fit for him. We don't have any good players on the D-line to demand respect from Carter from and to force him to get in line when needed.

Carter wouldn't of had the same success if he was drafted by us.

Because development is very important. Would Patrick Mahomes be the same QB he is today if it wasn't for him going to KC? Nope. Again Carter is talented but there is a reason teams passed up on him.

He is already extremely developed in technique as well as football IQ. He came already armed and dangerous. Unlike Mahomes, he doesn’t need an OL and receivers, to do his thing when double-team blocked. Watch the damn video, if you haven’t yet. He does it on his own. He doesn’t lose that ability by putting on a Bears jersey.

The reason teams passed on him are wrong. Same as Warren Sapp. I like Witherspoon, but I am pissed that neither of my teams got Carter. Poles is unforgiven, until he has a “Super Bowl ready” team.

No but who knows how he handles a losing culture like the Bears? Who knows how his work ethic would be with the Bears. There is zero veteran role models to keep him in place with the Bears.

Back to where I started. He’s not on a 1-yr. contract. He might be less motivated playing in this culture compared to a Super Bowl contender with all his Georgia teammates. Who wouldn’t? But again, he’s going to have a great 10-yr. career and would be on the Bears Super Bowl team years after these 2023 players are gone. I am drafting him for THAT team, not this one.
