Love this move. Claypool out. Bagent in. I'd love to see him get some work - maybe even today. Oh, and Equanimeous St. Brown will get his first action of the season. Maybe we'll see better edge blocking with him in.
If the Bears are going to run the ball, EQ is better. He hustles and knows the playbook. I want Bears to run 200+ yards. With Bears defensive secondary injured, Bears should play ball control. Until now, Bears had never lost 8 straight games at Soldier Field. Let the streak end today.
I want WR to catch the ball, TEs block and catch, linemen block. I don't want to draft linemen as WRs. DJ Moore doesn't block well, we really need to identify what we expect from each position. I see no logic in substituting a blocker for a WR. Yes a WR needs to block but that is secondary to primary job of catching the ball. Somehow the Bears have sold some people on blocking and forgot to catch the ball and then we wonder why QBs all fail in Chicago. Hmmmm I think this may be a pretty solid clue. :-)
before you can catch it, you have to be able know the play and to run the route correctly. Claypool cannot do that.
does it really matter if he can't catch it anyway. Doesn't matter if being open does not generate an advantage.
yes. b/c if you are not where you are supposed to be it won't matter if you can, it also throws the entire play off. ya know, like not blocking on a screen play. Oh and EQ just made a great catch.

I loved that catch by EQ. Highlight reel stuff.
Not sure about highlight reel but a catch for EQ could be I suppose. 😀
