I am so very curious to see this guy go against defenses in real games - not preseason stuff.

That is definitely a problem with Fields. But the WRs are not getting open on a lot of those plays. The film breakdowns that I've seen, sometimes have open guys that Fields doesn't see. But WAY too often nobody is open. It was especially pitiful against the Chiefs.

It's not that he doesn't see them, he doesn't trust them. The guys aren't lining up right, they aren't running the right route. This is Anthony Miller all over again, ya he looks open on still frames, but if he isn't open in the right area, or at the right time, then it's not really open.

Is that all the time, no. But if Fields doesn't trust them, then it's going to lead to hesitating, missing, or not even looking. Trust is the issue.

Okay, but when nobody is open, you have to do SOMETHING within 2.5. All the elite QBs are at 2.2 or 2.3. Tom Brady said he has a “2.5 clock” in his head.

Having said that, it is clear that we need to upgrade the WR position. That is why I wanted JSN if Poles was dead set against Carter. A really good route running slot receiver would be a huge help to Fields.

Yeah, Bears gotta fix this for the next QB if the move on from Fields. OL and WRs need to be better.
