He tries to make the point that the team did a lot of good stuff. "Did good things" "The guys are excited" "Fields did a lot of good things" "We are getting better" "Fields is getting better"
It sounds pretty delusional. I don't quite know what to make of it. He deflects and won't admit anything. I wish he would just be honest with fans and admit the problems - then maybe you can fix some of them. If you don't acknowledge the problems they won't get fixed.

He can't admit the problems. Wishing he would is wishful thinking. This is what we are going to get from every HC on every NFL team. Masters of talking and saying nothing.
He can't mention players by name. He had to stay loyal to his coaching staff. If he admits they suck he's going to get fired.
I don't watch any press conferences because they add no value.

It's sad really.
I agree as t the value. But they can be quite revealing. This one was very revealing IMO.
I am starting to personally spectate that we will be using out highest #1 pick on a QB in 2024. And that there will be a totally new coaching staff.
I am also starting to think about what may be going on between Warren and Poles. Warren was not part of the group that hired Poles.

I have thought about that too. The family finally brought in a capable President/CEO in Warren. He seems to be fiercely driven to succeed. He will be ruthless in pursuing success. I would not be surprised if he did do a clean sweep and start with better people.

Man, now im worried we have a HC who is actively using hallucinogenic drugs

That would at least explain some of his D calls....

It would be nice to have someone who actually knows the game being in complete control.
For too long, the organization has been a mish-mash of hires, never letting one person at the top make football decisions.
Ted Phillips was a good accountant. A good negotiator. I only question what his orders were and who was giving them.
The Chicago Bears lack a singular focus.
My fanhood dream would be either someone emerging from within the McCaskey Circle or an outright sale of the team to someone who wants this organization to increase it's value through championships and an ardent fanbase.

either ESPN or 670 someone asked when was the last time the President hired the GM hired the coach, the coach hired the coordinators and they drafted, or brought in the QB in that order. The person said you have to go back to Erik Kramer, who wasn't even drafted! We are talking the 90's that this team has been getting it bassackwards.
Thats why I'm hard on the Mc's, that's why I was hard on Phillips, and why I'm hard on the GM. This is not a coaching/drafting the wrong players problem, it goes so much higher and much deeper. These owners cannot even get the basics right. And they did it again w/this regime, interviewed and gave a list of HC's to pick for for their GM, then interviewed the GM's, then 2 years later, as if they didn't know Phillips was going to retire, hired the President? All this after drafting a QB that all those people had to agree to make work. This team insists on doing it all wrong and then starting all over and doing it all wrong in the exacct same way again.
