Happened a few times in the last 2 games. Either bad play design or bad route running.
But one thing for certain the idea that fields is the only problem is false. He doesn't trust what is happening and there are reasons for it, playcalling or wrong routes. The stuff happening around the QB are not what needs to happen to develop a QB

It is safe to say Getsy would not design a play to have two guys run in the same route and end up nearly the same place at same time. One of them should have broken outside and the other go deep.
Even last year Fields said he wants receivers to be at the right place at the right time. He praised EQ (ex-Packer who knows the Getsy playbook) for doing that reliably. Some of the others were just running around like wild chickens.

I 100% agree that it isn't on just Fields. 2 years and Poles only really got DJ Moore that can be consider a decent weapon for any QB. Mooney is not the guy and is never going to be the guy. I get why some Bear fans may think he will be since we're used to even worse players.

The fact that the def is capable of getting to 3rd and long consistently says that at least some of the pieces are in place, but the scheme itself is fundamentally flawed, and the def is still missing something b/c they also consistently allow a 1st on those 3rd and longs. The GM and HC inability to properly scout FA and the draft to get what his def needs in 2 years is a failure on their part. The GM's hiring of a def HC while having a developing qb on a rookie deal is another failure on his part b/c it meant not putting those resources around the QB. This team should have a stellar cast of WR's and OL and TE's that know the route tree that Getsy is running. Instead we have Kmet/CC and likely others not being where they are supposed to be based on what is happening; either by admitting it, or believing that Getsy is so bad at his job that he'd consistently have 2 guys at the end of their routes almost right next to eachother allowing for multiple defenders to be in the same area.
We did this shit w/Trubisky also, vids/still shots of WR's that appear to be open, but if they aren't running the correct route, and breaking when they are supposed to it doesn't matter b/c Fields eyes aren't going to be there. Fields is also missing guys no doubt and he is holding the ball to long but we don't know the play called, JT doesn't know the play called, only Fields and Getsy and the rest of the O do, so all this stuff is just noise.
